
A high-scoring thriller in Dharamsala between the Punjab Kings and the Lucknow Super Giants
In the 54th IPL 2025 match the Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 37 runs at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala thanks to an incredible performance. Shashank Singh made a pivotal cameo towards the end scoring 33 off of just 15 balls to help PBKS surpass the 230-run threshold. Only Akash Singh (2/30) and Digvesh Rathi (2/46) were able to take wickets while controlling their economy rates as the Lucknow bowlers were unable to control the assault.

But LSG’s hopes were maintained when Ayush Badoni came out as a lone warrior and played a heroic knock of 74 off 40 balls. Abdul Samad who scored 45 off 24 balls to form an 81-run partnership for the sixth wicket provided him with strong support. The necessary run rate continued to rise in spite of their efforts and LSG ultimately failed finishing at 199/7 in 20 overs.

The bowlers from Punjab Kings’ Bowling Masterclass carried out their strategies flawlessly guaranteeing that LSG never took charge of the chase. The most impressive player was Arshdeep Singh who destroyed LSG’s batting order with an incredible spell of 3/16 in 4 overs. Important breakthroughs were made by Azmatullah Omarzai (2/33) and Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen each contributed a wicket.
